Recovery care
Support while you rest and recover
About this care
Recovery care offers support at home after a hospital stay. Washing, dressing or preparing lunch may take more effort than usual. We’ll agree on the help you need, giving you time to rest and settle back into your routine.
We’ll take account of your discharge instructions and what you feel ready to manage. As your needs change, we’ll review your support together, giving you space to do more yourself when you’re ready and arranging further advice where needed.
What we can help with
We’ll discuss your return home and agree on practical support, which may include:
Help with washing, dressing and grooming.
Preparing meals, snacks and drinks.
Laundry, light cleaning and changing bedding.
Shopping and collecting household essentials.
Medication support, where assessed and agreed.
Getting ready for appointments and follow-up visits.

More at your pace

How it works
Getting started begins with a conversation. We’ll listen to what matters to you, explore your options and make a plan together.
I was glad to be home, but tired more easily than expected. Help with lunch, laundry and getting ready made those first weeks easier. As I felt stronger, I did more myself.
